STEVEN MILLER, CPA - PRESIDENT & CEO
Steve has an extensive array of tax consulting, teaching and writing experience. His foremost mission is to provide exceptional service to clients and creating a personal long-term relationship with each one.
Steve uses his years of experience to provide customized tax saving strategies to clients and assisting them in reaching their financial goals.
From 1984 through 1991, he worked for two international accounting firms where he initiated his international taxation experience.
He has served with expatriate tax practice teams, foreign nationals working in the US plus the Japanese International Network [JIN].
He has worked in Dallas, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Brussels, Washington DC, Florida and Chicago before establishing his own practice in Dallas in 1992.
Steve has authored international tax training courses and worked as an instructor for the Professional Development Institute. He has created nationally broadcast webinars for ACPEN – an organization that provides CPE to most of the State CPA Societies. He has been published by the Dallas Business Journal and Today’s CPA magazine for articles on international expatriate taxation and “Tax Planning for Incentive Stock Options.”
Steve is speaking at the statewide Texas Association of CPA's Conference in Austin in February 2018 on the topic, "Employing Tax Alpha to Enhance Investment Returns".
His practice focuses on global and domestic small businesses and high net worth individuals.
He assists other CPAs and tax practitioners in developing domestic and global tax strategies and/or compliance issues.
Steve has a strong musical background. He was a professional trumpet player before pursuing accounting. He enjoys the symphony, cycling, and playing with his two King Charles Cavalier’s, Rachel and Kansas.
FABIOLA LAW - SENIOR TAX MANAGER
Faby is the Tax Manager and has been with the firm since 2002. She has over ten years of public accounting experience providing quality tax and small business services to clients. She has experience with the preparation of federal and state individual, partnership, corporate, and trust tax returns. She has also been involved with IRS and state tax audits as well as client bankruptcy filings. Faby also oversees the bookkeeping and payroll services for our small business clients.
Faby received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Northwood University in Cedar Hill, Texas. She is currently completing her requirements to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Faby is a member of the Texas Society of Public Accountants. She is also an active member of Team Networking where she represents the Tax & Accounting industry in the North Dallas Chapter. At Team Networking she meets with other local professionals of various industries that could be a good resource to our clients.
JULIE BELL, EA – SENIOR TAX ASSOCIATE
Julie joined the firm in 2011 and works on individual tax returns for a variety of clients. Every client’s needs are unique and Julie approaches each return with a desire to understand those needs and offer the best possible information and advice. As Steve has grown the practice in international taxation, Julie has developed her expertise in that area as well. Having lived overseas herself, Julie has a special understanding of the challenges and circumstances many clients face trying to meet their U.S. tax obligations.
Julie graduated with a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and received her CPA license in 1985. She has worked in public, private, and non-profit accounting, moving to tax in 2007, becoming an Enrolled Agent (EA) with the IRS in 2011.
Julie is married and has four grown children. She enjoys traveling, creative projects (including a 20-year remodel of her home!), reading and writing.
DAVE RITZENTHALER – SENIOR TAX MANAGER
Dave joined the firm in 2017. Dave has over 30 years tax experience, with 12 years in Public Accounting (Arthur Andersen and KPMG) and over 18 years in the corporate setting. He was previously the Director of Tax for a billion dollar publicly traded multinational corporation and was the Director of International Taxes for a privately-held multinational corporation prior to that.
Dave has experience in tax compliance for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and corporations. Dave also provides tax planning services for small businesses and companies with international operations.
Dave has lived and worked in Dallas, Chicago, Milwaukee, New York City, Washington DC, Stamford CT, Columbus OH, Sarasota FL, London England and Toronto Canada.
Dave has a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Master’s in Tax from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has been a Texas CPA since 1986.
Dave is married and has three teenage daughters. In order to keep up with his active family, Dave works out using P90X and likes to take family vacations involving bike riding, hiking and sightseeing.
ROSS CHURCHILL, EA – SENIOR TAX ASSOCIATE
Ross joined the firm in 2016 and comes to us after over 30 years of sales, operations and executive management in large and small business and as a sole proprietor. He has been working with individual taxpayers on a variety of tax preparation and IRS audit matters for the past five years. He is an Enrolled Agent, and is committed to tax planning for the future as an integral component of our client relationships.
While living in Dallas in the 1980s, Ross was an active community volunteer, serving three years as a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 838, six years as a youth soccer coach, and two years as Commissioner of the North Dallas Soccer Association, serving over 3500 youth soccer players.
Ross has a BA in Psychology from Concordia College and is a Vietnam era USAF veteran. His free time is now spent enjoying his three grandchildren, all living in Dallas, and he particularly enjoys following their school and extra-curricular sports activities. He enjoys watching professional football and has followed the Texas Rangers since their arrival in Texas. Ross travels extensively throughout the American West every summer and he enjoys reading about the history of that part of our country.
ED DAYTON, EA – SENIOR TAX ASSOCIATE
Ed Dayton is a native Dallasite who attended North Texas University and graduated from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU.
He was a commercial banker and mortgage banker for 45 years prior to entering the field of tax consultation and preparation in 2004. Ed earned Enrolled Agent (EA) status permitting client representation before the Internal Revenue Service in 2012.
Ed is deeply involved in personal, small business, estates and trust taxation and consulting helping clients plan their tax strategy.
His avocations are golf, hunting and fishing, and he has been an active member of his church and community service organizations throughout his business career.
Ed is a past president of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Carrollton-Farmers Branch, and a past Training Chair and long-time Board Member of the Circle Ten Council, Boy Scouts of America that awarded him the Council Silver Beaver. At other times he enjoys the Blessings of his three children and two grandchildren.
NINA LIU – TAX ASSOCIATE
Nina Liu joined the firm in 2016. She helps organize tax documents and prepares partnership tax returns. She is also responsible for administrative and business management tasks to help the firm run efficiently. Nina has experience working for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and has a passion for helping people in the tax industry.
Nina earned her Masters's in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2017. She has passed all parts of the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exams during school, and is currently preparing for the CPA exam. She enjoys cooking, playing the Ocarina, spending time with friends, and attending Bible study.
MEIKO QU - TAX ASSOCIATE
Meiko Qu joined the firm in 2017. She assists with the organization of tax documents and preparation of personal tax returns. She received a Masters of Science in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas in May 2017 with honors. She is now working towards her CPA license. Meiko has taken several advanced taxation courses and has experienced working for the IRS Volunteer Income Assistance (VITA) program. During graduate school, Meiko was involved in several student associations, including IMA and Ascend.
Meiko’s interests include drawing and design. She also enjoys spending time listening to music and sketching. Some of her other passions include traveling and shooting videos.
MALLORY MOSER – OFFICE MANAGER
Mallory is the Office Manager and has been with the firm since 2012. She believes her most important role is creating a positive and professional client experience. Mallory is responsible for the smooth and efficient operations of HR, staffing, finance, time reporting, client invoicing, and firm growth.
Mallory received her BBA in Marketing graduating magna cum laude from Dallas Baptist University. Mallory has an active lifestyle practicing yoga and pilates. She enjoys country dancing, traveling, and maintaining a busy social schedule with friends and family.
NORMA HENDERSON, CPP – BOOKKEEPING & PAYROLL SPECIALIST
Norma has over seventeen years of experience providing bookkeeping and payroll services for clients in a variety of industries. As our bookkeeping and payroll specialist, Norma runs payroll for our clients, keeps their books up to date, and makes sure all payroll reports are timely filed while providing clients with excellent service. Her experience includes several different accounting software programs, including QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, and Navision.
Norma received her Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix in 2012. She received her Certified Payroll Professional recognition from the American Payroll Association in 2014. Norma is also a Quick Books Online Certified Pro Advisor and a Quick Books Pro/Premier Certified User.
Norma enjoys spending time with her three children and three grandchildren. Her interests include golfing, crafts, and cooking. She loves to crochet and read for relaxation.
ANGIE MORGAN – OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Angie has fourteen years of experience in office management and administration. She joined Steven Miller's team in 2014 assisting with office productivity and workflow processes. She organizes client related correspondence to ensure clients receive accurate and timely service. She has a strong hand in inventory management, office organization, and procedural workflow.
Angie lives in Mansfield with her husband and three wonderful kids. She volunteers at her church to educate young children and helps in fundraising. She loves to cook and spend time with family and her Yorkie, Gigi.
